I don't think getting rid of the XS clothing is a smart move..

I agree, we need at least xs tops..We do have a lot of xs regular pants but you're going to loose a lot of customers. Can't offer them something else if the arms aren't long enough or the body is to big. Sans USA needs to stay in manufacturing only they do not know our clients. Our clients shop for sale prices, they are mostly on fixed income and rarely buy full price..Also a lot of the stores are in areas where Snow Birds come and summer months are low sales. Bon Worth needed to advertise the Anniversary Sale to get people in. You need to Spend Money to Make Money. Some of our customers thought we had closed, when we called them about the Ann. Sale.

Correction about the extra small sizes. The company is not getting rid of all the extra small sizes. Just the xs tops and pants in the misses size. They do not sell as well as the xs in petites. Too many xs sizes left over at the end of season and not enough profit being made on the misses xs size. Its worth a try to see where the company can better put their money on what does sell. It will be up to the stores to give feedback on this decision.

Sounds like Tania might be management. Diane is only nice to area managers and up. Tania must be in fantasy land. What I'm reading is that there are a lot of people that are not happy with the new management, and are afraid to say anything because they will lose their jobs. Trust me if there was anything else to go to in my area I would. There aren't many jobs out there. Doesn't seem to be many qualified job seekers either by what you can see is being hired.

No one is exempt from corp help desk difficulties. Does not matter who you are. They need to learn how to support and help the stores better when it comes to computer problems. A kind voice and understanding go a long way.

If bon worth is so bad then just quit and if you already have I feel sorry for you that you have nothing better to do then get on here and whine! Many of us are frustrated with Bonworth on many levels. We do the best we can with the challenges that are put to us. Our customers remain our top priority. Always have been and always will be. Without them we would not have a future paycheck.

tania you need a little humility. see things for what they really are and don't act like you're gods gift to bonworth, and maybe you too can make this company better. siding with them on all levels and not acknowledging what is wrong instead of sucking up to them and acting like everything is perfect will not get you anywhere. i love working here and i love my customers but this company needs to get their priorities in order and that's what frustrates us. area managers are also frustrated because their voices are not being heard either. corporate needs to hone in on what needs to be done @ store level and maybe they'll gain the trust and respect back from their employees as well as their customers....

She should have been fired years ago because of her hatefulness to other human beings!! I worked for Bon worth for a few years and was treated awful by this woman and it was apparently ok for her to be so verbally abusive!! That should tell you a lot about Bon worths standards!! Not very high!! So Tania just wait your day is coming!! Diane will make u hate Bon worth!!!!

I have bought several clothes from Bon Worth over the years and because I have to buy petite, (not because I'm small, just short). and I am pass 65 yrs. old. They are nice clothes and work for me for church and anywhere I need to were nice clothes. We had a store in Eddyville, Ky. and Union City, Tn. which made it nice to be that close. Not sure about ordering on line. I hate to hear of any business closing, I do understand when a person wants to retire. Good luck in however things turn out.

So, are you going to pay me gas money to distribute out these VIP forms, Bonworth? What about the continuing gas money I hemorrhage to drive the 10 minutes every morning to bank? Didn't think so. oh and while we are on the subject of raises, I am on my eighth year as a manager and not a cent raise.Very glad I put my resignation in last week because what this company has turned into lately saddens me. You can't update the computers? Dial up in 2014? Perforated computer paper printers in a retail environment?! PATHETIC! And you are so fast to blame us when the computers don't poll but the truth is that you are using ancient technology well I've had it. You not only screwed us employees(my assistants went from 40 hours to 29? DISGUSTING.)over but also my longtime customers, who don't shop here anymore either because you don't listen to what THEY WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! rip bonworth

PUSH SALES! !! That's all we hear ... they need to slow down! I wish we could meet this so called new owner, that's if we even have one .... soliciting is one of the things we don't do at our store's, but yet they expect us to go solicit at other places. As if they pay for our gas too. Their cimputer CAN'T even keep up with them because their system is to old. Instead of spending money on dumb contest they should update the system. People from help desk always blames us for the mistakes when it's really the old computer system that we have. When the cc dials up twice! That's the damn computer that does it not us, but try explaining that to help desk! They're so rude!

I don't know about other stores, but we are really flustered. We are getting scarfs instead of clothes. How do you get sales without items to sell?Don't the new owners know that Bon worth is for 50 and up. What happens when you get old? You shrink!!!!! Where's the smaller sizes? Seems to me they sold the name to someone not interested in keeping the mature woman happy!!!(customers and employees)

What about the new signs? Has anyone else had problems with them? No one seems to know how to read! All they see is the numbers (40%) and they automatically assume that the new stuff is discounted 40%! If you correct them, they get mad! They should have made the signs a different color, and not the color of our Sale signs! It's bad enough we had to take the Dot Sale signs down.They sure don't know our customers well at all! All we have gotten so far is complaints from customers! That always makes the sales clerks Really Happy!

This is a venting site! It helps to release stress so if you don't like it STAY OFF THIS SITE! And..........the clothes are poor quality lately. They need to stay away from Egypt. Florida is HOT, I wish they would get away from so much poly and spandex. How about some COTTON with spandex and a little rayon. I would be willing to iron to stay cool,. Please, give us more choices in materials.

Stores are getting less merchandise. Sometimes only in just petites, no regular. And only 9 or 10 pcs of it. Yes, grab it when u see it cause it won't be there next time. And they are making very few extra smalls(if any) so those ladies will be out of luck. More lost sales!!! Some tops are totally crappy-poor quality material and stitching. Not even putting them on the sales floor. Ladies, check your garments well. Pants seem to be ok

The quality is GREAT. That statement is not true . Whenever you make 500,000 pcs of an item you always have one or two that you have to pull. You need to do your research before you put such a broad statement out there. This is a shopping site not a complaining site. We have new items that aren't sewn correctly and we can't steam out the wrinkles. Maybe they should have stayed with Mexico making our clothes instead of Indonesia. Ladies try everything on....Look Closely at what you want to buy. We'd be glad to tell Bon Worth about clothes not made properly but what is that going to get us? They're the ones who are using these lesser countries to make the clothes. Isn't that singing to the choir? What happened to MADE IN THE USA?

Ladies went to the store in Harlingen,Tx and they don't have anything new. I traveled from Corpus Christi to find nothing. Good thing the sales lady was nice enough to tell us there was one in Mercedes. Thank you Amanda

Since Bonworth hasn't given their employees raises in quite some time, how about giving us a bigger discount on clothes or give us a free outfit every once in awhile. Especially since they want us to wear their clothing and some of us can't afford it.

We are in transition right now in between Spring and Fall. We have a lot of great new styles scheduled to arrive in stores every couple of weeks. You will really begin to see it start hitting the stores in September. Keep visiting the stores and when you see something you like you better grab it. This year there will be less quantities of each style so we can continue to offer you a much larger variation in style, color and fabrication

Bonworth is the best company to shop at and they are great employers. If you are not happy at your job you can always go somewhere else. They bend over backwards to help their employees. This is a shopping site not a griping site to hurt somebody. I was there last week and the fall clothes are gorgeous and the staff was terrific. Thank you bonworth. Keep up the good work

I know because I was an employee that saw corp. lie to more than one employee including me. Just because you don't hear employees complaining, doesn't mean they are happy or being lied to. They might not know it but they are. Everyday.

Bon Worth is worth its weight in gold! I shopped at the home office store for some fancy clothes for an event, and the salespeople couldn't have been nicer. All my outfits work together, and I just wore one of them for a trip, no need to be badly dressed when traveling because what they have looks good and is comfortable too! I am glad and relieved that they aren't closing. Everyone knows they have nice leisure clothes but I got black tie outfits there! Just saying....

What is happening at Bon Worth? I stop in at least twice a month. When I was walking in I saw some ladies looking at clothes that were outside. One wanted to see what the sales price was, there was no chart and she couldn't figure out how much it was so they walked off. I went into the store said hi to the clerk working...and saw a few more people in the store. One lady was looking at jewelry and the clerk said I'll have to look on the computer to see how much it is we had to take our price charts down. She had to run back and forth to ring up items to tell customers how much things were. When there's one person working in your store which is normal I guess since I rarely see two or more clerks I think any information the customer can find on their own would help everyone. Why did you take your price charts down and why all the weird amounts on the new clothes. Makes shopping more of a hassle now. Looks like you're going to lose business if the people looking at clothes can't find a price and just keep on walking.

Yeah, funny how they put store openings on the web site but they never tell when a store is closing. They let that up to the hard working staff. Think about it. Never a word to the public but the staff in the stores had to break our customers hearts when we told them we would all be closed by July. Then they didn't close. They always have the little guy do the dirty work and how do they repay you?

Please listen up. I was a retailer in clothing for 30 years, Its not as easy as it looks. Hiring employees is a HORROR, they get the job then they become bossy,lazy, and only want the paycheck, they steal, open the store late, close early and do the stupidest things. So before you point fingers at Bon Worth or any other store, become a store owner,,,, You'll see.. its NO fun. You would also be shocked and devastated how some customers act as well. They are rude, demanding and always want something for nothing, they don't understand the monthly rent is $5,000.00 a month and the profit margins are low. Customers are always buying items, wear them and then want a cash refund. Then they do it all over again. So before you point fingers at stores for this and that, become a store owner, and bring a bottle along, as you'll want to do a lot of drinking.

our store closed some time ago. I just loved that store I could go in and find something everytime. prices were real good. I have ben trying to buy their poly poplin slacks, can't find any. sure wish we could get a store back. they were in our mall which is a joke. only shoe stores and clothing for young people. they should have gone into smaller malls that aren't expensive. sure wish we could have one again. we had people in our store that weren't nice several managers that usually tells you the store was in the wrong place. so many people never knew where I got my clothes, they don't advertise, a lot of the older people shopped there because that's the kind of clothes we wanted.

For your info, BonWorth already has tattooed, and pierced employess who work very hard to serve the customers. You never see the tatoos or piercings because the employees follow the polices about these issues. As far as min wage, bonworth hires many entry level employees at a higher rate then the min. wage. Let's hope the new owners increase the overall wages of all their dedicated hard working staff.

From my experience in retail, plus sizes are a loss profit items. Large ladies are always on a diet, or want to look like a size 10 when they buy a size 24. No matter what you have in store they want something else. Most large size specialty stores have closed, must be a reason? Plus sizes don't understand why they have to pay more for there sizes, Hello.... a lot more fabric, thread and time involved. There is a lot more profit in selling Petites over plus, petites is a great area for profits. I have always said they a group of plus ladies should all pool there money and open a plus size store! Then they would better understand the profit loss is plus sizes. My suggestion is to get a seamstress and have them make your clothing, its a perfect way to solve the problem and they would have there own look, Walmart has some great fabrics now, its the best solution to a growing problem

Contests are a waste of time....The little stores can not compete with the outlet stores. Business is slow in the summer. The stores in the Sun City AZ area have kept all customers aware of the negotiations and the merger. I have never met a grumpy or disgruntled employee in Bon Worth and I have been shopping all over the country. You have a fantastic clothing line and excited about more to come. I love the LeChute for travel and just about anything you carry. You have very devoted staff in all the stores that I have shopped. Will definitely miss Irene at one of the stores as she retires. Frequent shoppers are treated like family. Thanks for making it possible to keep the Bon Worth stores in business.

Hopefully the new company will advertise more. We need posters we can put in the window advertising all three sizes. Our customers can't see the small poster we have on our rounders. It needed brighter colors to catch the customers eye, not browns on sand. If they go with new models hope the clothes fit them better. New size charts showing XL is a 20-22 would be nice too. I am constantly asked if we sell plus sized clothing. Will the new owners begin carrying plus sized apparel? Also the ladies are asking about our company carrying solid blazers with skirts to match. I also was thrilled to often purchase from their online website and have clothes shipped right to my door here in Canada. However, sadly, a year ago they informed me they will no longer ship to Canada, due to their impending closure. Heard first part of contract was signed and the area managers have been changed for some stores. Also to expect more rapid changes after new company takes over. They want to expand the company. If it's not the typical Bon Worth styles that have room for our ladies then I think we'll be losing a large group of shoppers. In our store the Morgan Crossing tops don't sell until they're at final sale price. It's going to be difficult to get rid of "Bon Worth" clothing by June for the new company. Wow! but - just an FYI when we set our register, per instructions that every store has, everything in our store rings up at an additional 20% off and shows the final price for each item. (that way there is nothing to "figure out" if there is a return of something on that receipt either) That's how the system works in every store. We had a great day and lots of fun - Loved seeing so many of our wonderful loyal and also new customers!! I hope even though it was a busy work filled day that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did in our store!

Ive seen so much while shopping at the store..I too was a victim employee's were not allowed to talk to me, when I use to go in. Manager would send them away to the back room to stay busy while I was there. It felt terrible I would cry to my husband. He no longer let's me go in. Not all post/comments have been negative or full of drama. Many of the post are from concerned happy employees who want to keep and do their job well. It has been the overall lack of info from corp and the many unexpected store closings that have caused many of us to use this site as some way to get info. You have no idea the stress and sadness many of us have been going through since January. We are staying strong and still offer the best customer service out there.

I love shopping at BonWorth. I'm very disappointed that it is closing. I'm able to buy some things that will go with many things already in my wardrobe. My area mgr discussed the sale with us this week. She got the info from our regional MGR. She said the (BINDING SALE) papers are to be signed by end of April, then final sale to be completed by June 28th. The end of the retail month/fiscal year for company. Makes sense, since new health insurance is due usually july 1. The new owners want as much old inventory out of the stores asap. Hence the many transfers and large markdowns we have been giving to do. Time will tell as to how this is all going to work out. I know many customers are afraid that we will not carry BW styles anymore. Just think we will carry less but also have many new styles to choose from too. I for one am glad to get this very old merchandise out of the stores. It has a tendency to make our stores look junky. Lots of changes headed our way.

If it wasn't for our store mgr. I would of quit several years ago. I've been in retail since I was 17 & never have worked for a company who showed no concern for their employee's. They are keeping us hanging & they are still closing stores who is to say we're aren't next. I may or may not stay if our store stays open. It will depend on what the new company has to offer.

Why aren't all employees being told the same thing? It would be so nice to tell our customers if we're going to continue to have Bon Worth style clothing or if it's going to be more Morgan Crossing styles. Morgan Crossing isn't selling well in our stores. The blouses are to form fitting, and the customers don't buy them till they are final mark down prices. Then bring them back because there isn't enough room in them because of the darts. They need to do more than 20% off for CAD..... Can't wait to see markdowns next Tuesday.

Excited to hear that the final contract will b signed the end of June! I know there will be changes as with any new company...I don't think you ladies should be so negative! Why do you think there are going to be such big changes. The new company may keep all managers and our system till they get a feel of what the consumers will do. We may not even have our type of clothes to sell since all the designers were fired. If it's Pure Elements Clothing Company, they are the ones that make Morgan Crossing, that doesn't sell well. Morgan Crossing is selling now. Its at a better price and the colors seem to appeal to the customers now that it is spring. The non plaid pastel shirts-pink-blue and purple are a big hit right now. Pure Elements is one of our past designers, so they know our size specs and signature style. It is really time for some fresh younger styles for our younger older customers. This new owner is sitting on a gold mine as far as this age group goes. Not many places they can shop for the kind of clothes we can offer.

I am sorry to see Bon Worth close in my town. The sales ladies and managers were always helpful and courteous. The prices were very comfortable for Seniors and the clothes were great. I have tops and pants that I bought over 10 years ago and they stii look almost new. I don't think there will ever be a store to compare with Bon Worth.

I worked at Bon Worth for about a month and each lady did what I was being told THE MANAGER WAS to have been doing that sure was funny . She did it when she was there but the others had to when they worked plus loads of other things. So glad I QUIT because now I have started feeling a lot better

I think I'd fire you just by the way you type. How do you know they're updating systems? Cleaning house may be you. Nothing is certain. Watch what you wish for. From what I have seen assistant managers were in name only, never needed them. When you work alone and are a 3rd key you make the same decisions as an assistant mgr. or mgr. Every store is different, in every company. There are great managers out there and there are some who shouldn't be managers and varying degrees in between. The same goes for assistant managers and part time people. I am fortunate to have a wonderful "former" assistant - hope the assistants will be reinstated. And in the smaller stores (most companies ) everyone does most everything out of necessity . The more you know, the better off you.AND your customers are. Just heard we are having an Easter sale. To bad most of the snow birds have left. We needed to have one for at least two weeks so they could have stocked up on lechute items. Yes it's nice to get every penny you can.... But I think I'd take a little less to get rid of stock, then to take pennies for it when you send it to a clearing house. Most of our ladies don't buy unless the clothes are on sale. When you get transfers in from other stores and can't sell the stuff you already have then full price merchandise becomes a problem. So if we're SOLD now comes the waiting game to see who they keep. Doesn't help my ulcer much.

I am living in Switzerland and once or twice a year when travelling to California, I went to shop at Bonworth in Las Vegas or Laughlin. I have always enjoyed this special shopping experience and the very friendly and helpful staff. I am really sorry that all the shops will be closed soon. I am travelling to the States in April and was hoping to to go to the shop in Alpine, CA. Now, I just learned that it closed last weekend. From the store locator on the Bonworth homepage I learn that the Las Vegas shop has closed already? So sorry, always found really nice clothes to take home with me. I've been traveling by car for a couple of weeks!! It's amazing what I hear About Bon worth !! I heard that there was a possible buyer for the company and that negotiations are in fact happening!! I was very happy about this! Reaching my destination (Florida ) I learned the sale fell through!! Not from one store but two different stores!! I'm so sorry to hear this! I just want to jump in and say that while most of the employees on here sound so bitter and angry, I have found just the opposite in Smithfield, NC outlet center. The manager always has a smile, the ladies working there are all extra helpful. This is a wonderful store and a great place to shop. I just wand corporate to realize that they do have some great employees who truly care about their store and their clients. Sure do hope Blnworth doesn't close. Been buying all my clothes from them since 1990... the best

I have seen on this page that there are so many unhappy employes. I know not knowing what is going on is getting under peoples skin. But complaining is not going to make the process any easier. If you are so unhappy with the company you just need to go find another job that you think would treat you better. Or the way you think you should be treated. The do on to others blah, blah, blah is what we're complaining about. If we could be left to do our jobs the way Bon Worth wants us to do it then there wouldn't be any complaining. It's when you get chastised for some procedure that has "changed" and you weren't told about it. There are no jobs out there depending what state you're in. Most of the workers are not the age that companies want to hire. We don't know if they do sell the company that we'll have a job later on. Hope the new company is reading this and sees there is so much complaining about management. The worker bees will be the ones that get kicked out first. Upper management will sweet talk the new buyers into keeping them.

It takes a long time for an enterprise to decide whether they want to / are able to spend the money that it will take to buy Bon Worth and grow the company for the future. This is not like going to the grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread. This is a HUGE business decision that requires thought, planning, and financial backing. A big thank you for finishing the grey and pink outfit for Spring. Now I can buy the whole set.(It was missing the jacket) Also thanks to Morgan Crossing for going to size 20. Larger ladies need larger sizes. We've lost business because of not offering plus sizes and adding the size 20 will help. Also need to take note of styles that the Bon Worth lines carries. This is what the ladies who shop with us like.

I agree some of these managers need to be cut down on their hours. the one we have shes so F**** lazy and she is the only one getting 40 hrs a wk. she does not so anything can't even strip clothes. we dont even have toliet paper or soap in our bathroom. Her way to communicate with you is by leaving notes on the cashwrap which i think its so unprofessional. Now that we are closing she is implementing rules and regulations that she does not follow. The biggest con is her open door policy, literally open door!

Im sorry your manager is that way I had a very good manager where I worked. she also left notes for us near cash rap, however she explained to us too. As for getting toilet paper and soap, if you see its needed pick it up get some and they repay you. No big deal, most of the stores are small enough to do that. It really doesnt pay to complain at this point. Just do your job thats all you can do, remain politle to customers, its not their fault whats going on and most of all do not complain to your customers about your work environment or job. The potential buyer is Pure Elements Clothing Co. that makes Morgan Crossing. Next week the regional mngrs. are talking with them about the "Fall Line". All the other Bon Worth designers have been fired. If someone purchases us it does not mean they will be keeping Bon Worth style clothing. They may not want any of us and hire new people. Hey I know how Bon Worth can save some money.Demote the Regional and Area managers to store managers, they're not auditing or out intimidating employees anymore. this is to the poster who had some interesting ideas to SAVE money. For your info, audits are still being done. Insurance would still have to be offered to any employee working more then 29 hrs. Managers are required to work 40hrs, so no money would be saved. Not all co-managers are insured by BonWorth. Some choose not to be. Who do you suggest should oversee that the stores are following the policies and operating the stores correctly? It sounds like you have a bad relationship with your area manager. Sorry to hear that. Intimidation is not the purpose of the area and regional mamagers. Area managers are also store managers, doing 2 jobs for one salary. Have any other bright ideas?

BonWorth, I have always loved the matching outfits. I love the quality of the tee-shirts and they match the bottoms. Would love if the pants came in tall. Not fond of all the plaid and the rise on the Morgan Crossing pants is too short. Love the leChute material. I really do hope you will look at what has been selling and keep with a good thing!

Big meeting scheduled for next week with the potential buyers. To clarify a recent post. Its not Morgan Crossing. Morgan Crossing is a brand name of a line of clothing the potential buyers make for Bonworth. Also to another poster: you can find the paper needed for your report printer online at staples and have it delivered. As far as getting a Thank-You from Corp when your store closes, it never happens. Employee praise is something I hope the potential buyers will change in the future. To Bon Worth corp, you need to be honest with your employees. Allot of us employees live by this resource and having them on the waiting game is really hard. these employees could be looking for a job else where before its too late. I dont know if you are giving employees time to look for a job before you decide to close but that would be unfair if you do not. take into consideration that we are still here working in a limble just waiting when we could be looking. also consider that we problably do not look reason being is that we love our job. i am very concerned on the out come so if you have any news let us know so we can make accomadiations. i know that corp might not have any consideration but on the high note know that your employees do.

The only California Bon Worth store, in the Viejas Outlet Mall in Alpine near San Diego, closed yesterday. I had no idea stores were closing until an employee called to tell me yesterday was customer appreciation day and the store would be closed immediately afterward. Words cannot express how shocked and sad I am about this. I first stumbled upon Bon Worth about 5 years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. I absolutely LOVE the clothes, have a closet full of them, and have told all my friends about them. I have never found any other clothes that provided such fit, comfort, style, quality, and value for women my age (50-something). The sales ladies at the San Diego store were always wonderful, particularly Bernice. I am willing to drive to Arizona just to continue shopping at Bon Worth. Please, please, try to find a buyer for the business and do not close all the stores!

The only California Bon Worth store, in the San Diego area, closed yesterday. I only found out it was closing because an employee called to let me know they were having a customer appreciation day, and then the store was closing for good. I cannot express how sad I am about this. I stumbled into Bon Worth about 5 years ago, and have been a loyal customer ever since. The clothes are wonderful for older women--I can't say enough good things about them--and so were the staff at that store, especially Bernice. The stores that are closing have been notified. Just wish we all had a list so we could inform our (traveling) customers as to which ones they are. So many have closed since Dec 2013 that it is hard at times to keep track for our customers. The BonWorth web page seems to be the most updated at this time. From what I understand they will let the stores know by the end of March if they have been bought. Do know that about 15 stores will be closing on March 23 after a company wide Customer Appreciation Day.

I was recently at the Mercedes Texas store on Saturday and they had customer appreciation day and it was very disorganized and under staff. They were trying their best but it was overwhelming for a person my age to stand in line for a longtime and we were never offered any beverages. Your the only reason why I'm sticking around till the end, although this company DOESN'T deserve it. Maybe they are waiting for the papers to be signed before they tell employees its a done deal. Buyers could change their minds at the last minute not to buy. There is a lot of things to consider before some one buys a company that's not doing good profit wise. Maybe new owners will do marketing better than the owners now.

I loved shopping at Bon Worth in Jefferson City, MO. mall. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am slender, and ONLY BON WORTH clothes fit me. The store in Jefferson City closed, and I traveled south to Lake Ozark, MO. to shop. Since I live 35 miles west of Jefferson City, the Lake is further south. But, I hope the store is still open as I will go there as soon as I can. (Ice, snow has kept me away).

Dillards did close 3 stores last year. The Dillards where I shop is smack dab in the middle of a new mall built in 2009 that is now in Bankruptcy and Foreclosure, n a area where shoppers have retirement money to spend. Remember Borders book stores? Who would have THUNK IT! And right now Target is shaking due to a Credit Card foul up. Don't be too sure of any JOB in this economy. If you don't perform and bring in the sales at Dillards, there is another 100 gals waiting for the opportunity.

I am sick to see Bon Worth closing. I found this store a couple of years ago. All of the cloths in the other stores do not fit me right. The pants are either hanging below your bellow button and the tops all but let your boobies hang out, then I found Bon Worth the pants come up on my waist where they are supposed to be without letting your belly hang out and the tops fit so nicely your boobs don't show. A lot of people think this place is just for old people but its not. I have found some beautiful cloths here. I used to work for Dillards and you say Bon Worth doesn't pay their people well. Just work for Dillards and you will find out that most of these clothing stores do not pay well.

I am sooo disappointed at the news I just received this week of the Bon Worth stores cloings all stores by the end of June! I have shopped Bon Worth for many years and have always been able to find an outfit to suit the need! I have shopped at every store between Nashville, Tn and Ellenton, Fl including Dalton, Ga. I am just sick at the thought of no longer having my place to shop at for my dress slacks and tops for Church! And other events/occasions! The employees at each and every store I have shopped at has always been sooooo very helpful and kind! Going to miss this kind of a shopping experience! If it is a fact of retirement, please just sell the business, don't just close it!

I am so disappointed at the closing of the Bon Worth stores. I started shopping in one at Gulf Shores, Alabama 8 years ago and was so happy to find a store in Akron, Ohio. I am short and have a problem finding tops that aren't too long and clam diggers that aren't soo long. No other store has such a nice selection of tops and pants matching each other. Hope the stores remain open.

I have shoped at Bon Worth stores in Fl. since 1992. I love the clothing. I don't shop in Macy's or Dillard or any other stores since I found your stores. I have always have received exceptionally good customer service from all the employees. and the clothing always fits. If the new healthcare is causing a problem for your bussiness (i can't speak for anyone else) but I would rather pay more for your clothing rather than have you go out of business. We never got anything for Christmas or thanksgiving. If we were lucky they would send a "merry Christmas" email and one year they didn't even do that. My name is Jean O'Hanlon. I live in Tucson, Arizona, and shop at Bon Worth in the Foothills Mall. I was delighted when I found this store by chance about 2 years ago. I especially like the Le Chute fabrics that look like a suit when you match top and bottom. They have not been available this year. I am a 74 year old woman who is plump, short, and looks best in the longer tops I have found in Bon Worth. I am very unhappy to find they are closing since I haven't found another store which has the looser styles, but tend to be stylish. The two or three people who have waited on me go well beyond the average store attendants in their helpfulness, and knowledge of their products. Please reconsider closing the stores!

I am the husband of a long time customer of Bonworth. It seems that Bonworth has been a great place for my wife to buy all different types of clothing , as she is a small petite woman. There has never been a time that she would come home without a smile on her face. I have met and known the employees of this store as well. They are the nicest , most personable individuals that I have ever seem or met in a retail enviornment . They are so sorry that they will not see their customers anymore. As well as losing their income. The people that I know have worked 6 to 10 years plus. Some will retire others will be looking for a job in a terrible job market. They are worried . ****** Everyone loses in the closing of these stores. If this corporation is profitable please look for a buyer who will takeover and go beyond what the present management has or is doing. I am affected by the closing of the store which I proudly helped run. I enjoyed my job very much. loved my boss. I saw nothing wrong with corporate. I am highly upset that we had to close down as were our customers. But posting negative comments about the clothing or management or anyone is dumb. How about you think about the people like me who is out of a job. Im 27. 3 kids. Im not gonna make it on unemployment and do you realize how hard it is to find a job these days. I drive quite a ways to go to the Bon Worth store in East Mesa and have been doing so for many years because the quality is great but especially for the wonderful employees at that store (ESPECIALLY, in the past year). Thank you to Linda, Joan, Marilyn and anyone I am missing. You have always been helpful, kind and upbeat whenever I come in to shop. Hopefully, it will be sold so you can keep your jobs.

I think all the shopping we have done with the knowledge that the stores may either close or not carry our favorites may work to give the new buyers an incentive to actually do a purchase, had we not had this information its possible that the stores would not be favorably looked at regarding purchase

Heard through the grapevine that at least 10 more stores to close. Last day open will be on March 22. That's the customer appreciation day for all the stores. Sure isn't an employee appreciation day. Told the stores will be notified about 2wks before they close. I guess the best thing to do is call you favorite stores before you go there to shop.While I do worry about where to shop for my sizes and styles I like, my heart goes out to all the wonderful girls I have met in the stores over the years. It has always been a pleasure. Thank-you.

Am reading the comments and am amazed that very very few have expressed concern for the soon to be out of work employees--they are just worried where they will buy their next pair of pants!!!! From what I have seen, there are few employees at the store level that are say.. under age 50, if not under age 60. Where do you think they will get a job at their age? And don't think that employers don't discriminate against age... they take one look at your face.... To add with that, the computer system at the store level in ancient. No internet access, spread sheets, accounting sheets etc. so no current computer skills. You could have had them in the past, but while working for BonWorth you have currently lost them... unless you want to pay and take a class. I love my job and customers--and yes no commission (they're shold have been at least some token commission paid) and hate to see them close, but only time will tell.

I disagree with a lot of the comments. I have been shopping at Bon Worth in Gonzales, La,for over 23 years,but mostly in Gulfport, Miss. The people working there are extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. I used to buy nothing but Alfred Dunner and these compare to Bon Worth. There is hardly a time I go anywhere and wear something from Bon Worth that I am asked where I got the garments and how wonderful they look and they can't believe the price. Some people don't have anything to say unless it is negative. Get a life and think of all of the great people who will be out of a job in this pitiful economy.

I've shopped Bon Worth nationwide for many years. The LeChute slacks are the best ever and consistently sized. Very sad to see what appears on the horizon. That being said, I can only hope there is a buyer looking seriously at Bon Worth. A new owner(s) with aspirations of retaining the company as it is with perhaps some tweeking here and there would be wonderful for employees and customers. It could be a win-win for all. The management are held at a higher level of responsibility by Corp office. You have no idea what they have to put up with. For those first 5 months of 2010 we made our Sales Plan, we did the most fashion shows in NJ AND trunks sales at least once a month. BUT , my stores back room was a health and safety hazard! We happened to be inspected by the local fire department and they sent a letter to the mall and BonWorth. That was in March we were closed by the end of May. Unfortunately the store had been rented "as is"!! BonWorth, being the cheap company they are, opted to close the store, rather than fix it!!! I

ALL Bon Worth stores,as we know them, are due to be closed by the beginning of September. The store closings will continue to progress over that period of time. The on-line store is already effected and is short of many items. None of the stores know when they individually will close until a couple of weeks before the actual closing. All of the personnel I know are working very hard to take care of their customers for as long as they are there.

Wow I hope that everyone does not confuse this central Florida manager with other central Florida managers. This closing effects employees and customers just in different ways. Customers have a right to their concerns as well. Each person at every level has a right to voice their concerns or feelings. Any way I was upset at first but you know what the right doors will open when it's time,hopefully for all of us involved. Stay positive ladies :-) you never know the next positive move in your life could be from the very person you might have been complaining about. Never forget to treat others how you want to be treated yourself .

always went to the Hanover store and had a lady my girls called Miss B. She was the most wonderful person I ever had in a clothing store. We recently went back and found the store closed. I always spent over a 100,00 at a time becasuse I always found some (a lot of things) with her help. You are making a big mistake. Your company is going to go the way of J. C. Penney. The outlet stores are not the same. The people there have no sense how to deal with people. I will continue to go o he Hershey or Gettsburg ones but will not spend as ,much ot go as often. Nancy H. Nancy, please look at the website. You might find shopping there nice. Check to see if any of the open stores are near you. Sorry you feel shopping at the outlets not as enjoyable. They are bigger stores with more customers but the employees should treat you the same as the smaller stores did. Yes, Ms.B was a wonderful employee. Glad you had a good customer relationship with her. We don't know what the future of BW is at this point, but I know I have many stories and memories from there too. Take care.

The online store is limited on the Fall 2013 items. You have until March 10th to order those items. But the online store has all the new Spring/Summer items for purchase now. So disregard the other post please. Your best bet is to visit one of the local stores for a better choice. Many of them have a very large inventory of the 2013 fall items at great prices (up to 70% off). Hope this clears up a few questions for you.

I am so sorry to hear bonworth is closing. I have shoped at the store at Gettysburg outlet every since they open in 2000. I love the clothing. I always have received exceptionally good customer service from all the employees in that store and the clothing never wears out. where am I going to buy my clothing now, please do not go out of business please reconsider.

The store I usually shop in has been closed a year almost. I found a new store that I love every worker in it. They are so helpful to us every time we go. The one little gal is elderly and she goes so far out of her way to please my mom and myself. The store manager will be missed with such sorrow. She makes us girls so happy and even gave my husband what she calls a husbands chair and a bag of cookies to keep him quiet so I can shop. He had so much fun that day he wants to go all the time now. Great hospitality. They have another women there who loves people. She can talk all day and sell them the moon. I recently learned those employees do not make commission.can you believe that this store does this all from their heart. We are going to miss you gals at BW. I hope you share with us where you are all going. God bless them. I hope your finances will hold up. Mr. Bon Worth, thank you for all the years of clothing. Your intelligence made us all happy.

I work in Florida, and we are working harder than ever receiving merchandise from stores that have closed. Bonworth is lucky to have had a manager like ours, who is so loyal to them and to the customers, and is staying to the very end of whatever happens with Bonworth. We face the customers each day, who are saddened by our closing. Our store is making the best of it, still working hard and trying to please our customers.

If you are a Bon Worth employee, then your area manager should of let you know what stores are closing. We had some stores close on Feb. 22 and the next set of stores on the list will be closing on March 22 and those stores know who they are. We have started a call list and if customers want to be contacted about closing dates they will be called.

I was told Bonworth might have a buyer. If that does not pan out we will close. Customers please be patient with us as we are working short handed. Management does not seem to care. I think they have already checked out. Our manager has left and found another job making more money. I can't blame any body for finding something else. There is only four of us left. One girl has a chance of getting another job, so that will leave just the 3 of us to do everything. It has become very stressful. So please be patient with us and not scream at us. It is not our fault. Thank You.

Anyway it is what is everyone just know that the store level employees who have been here for awhile really do love and appreciate our shoppers and to the employees who had bad managers I am sorry your run at bonworth was not a good one because me personally , I have met some wonderful people and have some awesome coworkers. Our store may not be picture perfect all the time but if the shoppers knew what store I am speaking of they will tell you we really care about about each other and them as well, they we're and will continue to be treated like family as long as we are here.

Just got some great prices on Morgan Crossing at my local BW. I have been buying BW for a while now and like this new line of styles. The pants feel wonderful. Just wish they had some solid color shirts instead of all the stripes/plaids. Hope the stores /company can get a buyer so I can continue to blow my paycheck there. Please look into adding a few stores in Maryland. The store I go to has always been a pleasure to visit.

I hope the new owners will look into the turn around in employees at our store and get rid of the manager that is horrible. A bunch of us may be filing a law suit for harassment we have lots of documentation and witnesses. We will see what the outcome is next week.

There are literally thousands of employees lives involved here.. Someone at the top needs to get OPEN AND HONEST about EXACTLY what is going on and exactly where they are in the progression of their plans. Nothing that is going on right now promotes any trust about how things will be handled. These employees have to be making some kind of plans for their future rather than just sitting on "hold and hope"

I understand that Bon Worth will be closing all stores and factories by summer. They have already closed a number of stores. We should all be calling Bon Worth and letting them know how we feel about the closing and ask that they consider selling rather than closing. First of all, I'd like to thank the owner of Bon Worth for his/her foresight. It's been a joy to shop the stores. Style and Fit at a reasonable price for mature women is sooo hard to come by. I have never had a bad experience with sales staff. They may be a little preoccupied these days but who can blame them. My friends and I have to travel to Clearwater and points north and south to shop the stores since there are none in Tampa (who knows why). I hope a solution can be found to closing the stores. I would be a great loss to many of us. I'd especially like to thank the ladies at Bayside #265 for all the fun I've had in their store. I'm always going in with a tote bag full of blouses to match to pants and they are so gracious. I'll miss them for sure. Thank You All!! It will be a hugh loss for a lot of women.

There were many stores in PA that closed in Dec and early Jan. I just heard that the YORK PA stores last day is this Sat 2-22-14. Some believe that after march 22 many more will begin to close. Many stores have customer lists and I hope corp will let the stores call the customers when they find out their closing date.

Bon Worth is about the only store where I can find clothes that fit. My Mother and I both shopped almost exclusively in these stores. Customer service was outstanding and the products are some of the best. It is a store worth saving.

The remaining stores will be having a Customer Appreciation Day Sale on SAT March 22,2014. Extra 20% off your total sale. I got a flyer stating this last week. Should make for some awesome prices. I just hate to see Bon Worth close. That's the only place I shop and my ward robe is only Bon Worth. The clothes are wonderful, wear forever and I have sent many friends to the Bon Worth in Tuscola IL. I am so disappointed in this decision. I hope the store doesn't close near us. I had such a good shopping experience today at the Ocala, FL store where clerk Glynnis was so helpful & kind. Was very sorry & sad to hear of Bon Worth's imminent complete closing and going out of business. It is the signs of our times with so many companies loss of business that they are no longer able to maintain that business. Only the biggies like Walmart can sustain themselves in these troublesome times. And I am not knocking Walmart, just stating a fact. I wish that the corporate ofc. could see clear to letting the remaining stores know when to expect their closing and also show respect to their employees as to what is up. I'm sure that the faithful, hardworking employees deserve that much. Or am I being too naive? Good luck to all of those hard workers!

Hi ya all, It is great to know there are some people who really care about others. As I am reading the post, I would like to encourage all the positive people commenting on here to go to this link. I started this beginning of Feb, when I got better info from my Area Manager, who is a delightful Area Manager. Please twitter this link, FB, email for signatures. Asking it be sent to the NC Gov. Pat McCrory to stop the closing of the other stores. We have to take a different action to have a different change, even those who have a bad attitude here need to change to have a better change occur for them too. I know that those that have a heart will get this petition where it needs to get signed. Permission is granted for anyone to copy the petition and get signature in the store. We have 250 so far. I have read so many negitive responces here and it is so uncalled for.An owner or owners of a company has every right to do as they see fit. Bon Worth has been around for many years. Through those years, employees and customers have come and gone. Others have closed, and we all survived.We haven't gotten raises in 5 or so years, but stayed on because we like the company and the customers.Life will continue. We just have to find a diffrent avenue to work and shop.We all need to think about the owner and give him our support and prayers.Remember the old saying 'don't judge anyoneuntil you walk a mile in their shoes'? I am very thankful for BonWorth, as I have met alot of very nice customers and fellow employees. Alot of good memories.A new chapter in all our lives is about to open, so lets be thankful and grateful for jobs and a great place to shop for nice clothing.Complaining will only make sadness and wrinkles. I have been a manager at my store for 20 year's this June. I LOVE this company. Best company I've worked for, and I have worked at several. I am really heart broken of the closing. It has been a company that has LOVED their employees and staff. Many at home office are heart broken. They loved their jobs, are they wouldn't have been there for so many years, and almost all have been there as long and longer than I have. I have grown very personally to all of them. Mr. Bill and Mr. Loren and Noreen and all the staff are understanding, loving and concerned about your problems and ours. and help in any way they can. I dearly Love my area, and regional managers. Couldn't asked for any better managers. My customers are heart broken also, they are my family. All that has been said on here is just people that just don't have respect for their job or company. They just don't know what good is, let them work for a company that's looking over their back at all times, and they will feel differently. I've been there and hated it. I wish someone would buy the company out so we could stay open for our customers sake an ours also. There isn't any stores like Bon Worth around to shop at. If you can't say anything good about anything, why say anything at all? Pray for our company and our customers, that it may stay open, and for the people that work there that so Love it. I agree with Lois, having been a Manager for 7 years and now working part time. Some of my customer have been close to tears when they hear the news. These ladies have become friends over the years and only shop at BonWorth for their clothes. The people at corporate have been wonderful for the most part and like any employer, we think they could have done some things better. My heart aches for all the employee's who will become unemployed and have to find other jobs. I do wish they would let each of the stores know when they are closing so we can plan our lives accordingly. BonWorth will be greatly missed by employee's and our loyal customers.

I have worn their clothes for 20 years and worked for Bon Worth for seven years. It's a real shame how this closing is being handled. We all realize how times have changed, but the true customers of Bon Worth are being hurt. They will have no place they can rely on for good fitting clothes, where husbands even enjoy shopping in the stores. Since some of the new lines have come in, it does not have the same quality once known as Bon Worth. We hope they will reconsider other options

Having poured in so much money for the computer upgrades, Morgan Crossing like and style updates this past year, it's more likely to be that he is either going bankrupt, or has health issues. My guess is the second one, he's not young and the company has been for sale for a while now. They should have brought in someone to restructure the corporate headquarters and made the whole thing a public company years ago, perhaps then we would have had a chance. It's been a leaking ship for a while now. As an employee I speak from experience. Also, I sympathize with the people who have poor managers and district managers... Mine are horrid and even the regional didn't care when I tried talking to her. When I first tried addressing my issues with the district manager she made many promises of helping the situations but nothing ever came of it, instead my manager just became more abusive to me. It also made me sad how many racist people are employed here and unpunished for it. They even speak to the customers about it, and who are apparently of the same mind! I thought in this day and age we would be past all of that. I love and have been a part of this company for many many years now, as an employee and customer, and am loathe to see it treated so poorly by the people who are hired to take care of and manage it. Everyone is correct, this whole closing business is being handled quite poorly. To the person who said that what we post is being watched, I hope that it is. Perhaps Mr. Wells will finally see what his employees really think and how hurt we are. I have a feeling that by trusting what the district and regional managers tell him about employee situations and morale is a good deal different than the truth. It breaks my heart to see it all go down this way.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying. I have only worked for Bon Worth for a year and LOVE my job and the people I work with. I like my manager as a person but her management style leaves MUCH to be desired. The web says: "Bon Worth is an American retail clothing chain which manufactures its own clothing from a plant in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Founder Loren Wells started Bon Worth in 1976 in Hendersonville, and expanded throughout the 1980s." This is NOT true. Most of the clothes are made in China, Indonesia, Viet Nam and some countries I have never even heard of. I think that is why it is in such bad shape now.

Bon Worth's web page is still there. Logically, they should close the small, unprofitable stores and leave the profitmaking stores open, but only time will tell. The clothes are not what they were a few years ago. It seems they are catering to the retired grandma's. Too many middle age - early retirement people come in and are buying for grandma in the nursing home and won't even think of anything for themselves. Too old looking. Too bad. Considering employees are suppose to wear BonWorth clothing... must make the younger employees feel just wonderful :(. Only time will tell...

It's called Karma!!! The store I worked for was poorly managed. They were very underhanded when they fired my mgr. & had already hired a previous mgr back to replace her. The entire mall knew about it before we did. Was never so glad to get away from such a backstabbing company.

I also experienced backstabbing from my area manager in her effort to give my job to her friend. She harrassed me and outright lied about me. It seemed the regional manager and corporate did not care what she was up to even though my entire staff quitting when she terminated me should have made a strong statement to the company. As for the merchandise, most of it was outsourced and not the quality you remember. I'm glad to see karma coming for them.

I've been shopping at Bon Worth for several years. The clothes are reasonably priced and always a good fit. And not designed for the teeny-boppers. I too am not happy about the closings, but can't help wonder about the reasoning behind the decision. Many companies / offices are closing their doors because of the current political administration's policies. I also understand that all Bon Worth clothing is made in the USA. What a shame to be losing another AMERICAN manufacturer! However, the powers that be should let us know, especially the employees, when this closing will take place, and if they can, tell us exactly why. It would be interesting to know the reason.

The clothes haven't been made in the USA for several years, unless its the brands like Erin London that they sell. As for it being politically based I doubt that.... They eliminated all Asst. Manager positions this January to avoid having to pay for the insurance.

I have really tried to stay out of this. BonWorth is a good company. Maybe the employees who are complaining should take a step back and look at themselves before critizing another. No one knows the specifics of why they are closing, But they are not the only company doing so. There are many different factors that weigh into this. Most of the employees that work there are the best they can be. Treat customers like family, stores are clean, I am sad to see them go. I will miss them because I basically grew up with this company. Before blasting someone or complaining about something. Think of others that are reading it and try to be posiitve, Maybe some of the reason is the negativity that you show on here was reflected in your work and maybe that was why you did not get a raise.

I work for BonWorth in one of the stores and BonWorth Corporate Office has been very up front and honest with us. They told us that we have a complete spring line to sell and for now it is business as usual and that the closing would be gradual over time and that as soon as they knew a closing date for a specific store they would let us know. I dont know what else people think they could do. It is just one of those very unfortunate things. No one wants BonWorth to close.

I can not believe that you are closing all your stores. There is a desperate need and I know they were profitable for you. My mom and her friends love Bon Worth. So sad to know that the brick-and-mortar stores will no longer be available for them to shop at. Will Bon Worth still have their clothes online to buy? When will the closings begin? When will the closing sales begin? We have gotten word that all of the bonworth stores are closing its ashame that he doesn't sell it not only for the benefit of the loyal customers but for the employees as well. When I got the news I cryed like a baby I have 4 children to care for with only my salary. I cant began to think how horrible everyone feels about this thousands will be out of work and struggling. I sit an wonder if this man has any simpathy for all of his loyal employees who actually cared who actually love their job. An have gave their dedication to bonworth. Now I have to start all over again after almost 5years of being with them. I will pray for all of the employees and I hope he has a change of heart an sells. I will miss this place.

Just returned from the store in Matawan. I wanted a simple cotton long sleeved shirt. Every shirt had some kind of picture or design on it or was a sweat shirt. It was an annoying waste of time. Do you no longer make PLAIN shirts? Why do you sell scarfs? They dress up a shirt.

I was just at your store in the Logan Valley Mall, Altoona PA. Was told they are closing Dec 14, 2013. I understand price of renting space, but I sure hope you are looking for another space in Altoona to rent. My husband likes to shop there for me and I really like the sizes (Petite). Of course you could always come to Huntingdon, we are always looking for great stores to come into the area.

I just drove 44 miles to the LaSalle/Peru Ill Mall specificly to go to Bonworth only to find a empty store and not even a sign telling us if you have a store nearby...I use to drive 90 miles one way to Bloomington/Normal and you closed that one and opened Peru...I was delighted it was closer...Now where?....I"m 79...I will NOT drive to Chicago area....So disapointed...:(

I am SO disappointed that I can't shop on-line! I live in the Los Angeles area and the closest Bon Worth is at least 3 hours away. There are lots of outlet malls much closer than Alpine or Las Vegas. With the population of Champaign, I think it would go over very well. We have a wonderful mall called Market Place. I always pick up a few things at the Tanger Outlet store when vacationing in the Ft. Myers area. The clothes are very similar to the Alfred Dunner brand but much less expensive. We sure could use a store in the south county area of St. Louis. St. Louis Mills is way too far to drive at these gas prices. Also...can't understand why there is no way to order on line. Just a note: Three years ago while celebrating our 50th class reunion in Laughlin, we happened on your store. We each bought clothes, and returned again the next day and bought more. Today, as I was doing laundry, I thought I would try again to see if you had somewhere close where I could view and buy your clothes. I absolutely love them as do my friends who bought clothes when I did. I would visit any place again just to buy my clothes there. And I might add the girls who helped us out were wonderful. In shopping at Bon Worth's in Brooksville Florida I was impressed with the quality of clothing at this store. It is the same at every Bon Worth's store no matter where you go. My wife is always pleased with the products and always looks forward to shopping there.

I just shopped at Bonworth for the first time ever at the South Mall in Allentown,PA. I bought 7 tops,1 3 piece outfit,and a pair of slacks. What a great shop. The clerk,Tammy, was so helpful and pleasant. What a difference from most stores today where the clerks cannot be bothered to find something for you. I wish we had one in Bethlehem. I would be there every week!! I am retired and actually found clothing that was not for teens but refined adults. The quality looks great and the selection was terrific. I wish they would add plus sizes to their line so I could get many of my friends to shop there. I found their sizes run a little bigger so instead of plus I was able to take lg. or x-lg in everything. I even got a jacket in a medium.It is a good idea to try everything on to be sure of the sizes. Please open one in Bethlehem. we have a small strip mall near us with the perfect vacant store to rent! That would make my day!!

I was just introduced to Bon Worth one day ago. Was hoping to look at a catalog or on-line selection, but it seems there is no catalog! The clothes I saw were so pretty. I hope to find a selection soon.
